Nailbiter 02:08
Winding winding Turning turning The widening gyre burning burning Out of the forest and into the trees The boy shall go wherever he please All the bridges he's been burning All the lessons he's unlearning The falconer cannot be heard He gathers forth distrusting words He reach a stream, he can't cry out After knowledge always doubt When over the hill there comes a shout The distant smoke, the smell of stout

When the time comes they tell me it will all make sense And the angels will leap up and make my defense When the time comes they tell me it will all make sense And the angels will leap up and make my defense It seems implied that I should wait 'til that day Like those around me with nothing left to say They seem to insinuate that I should wait my turn I can see it in their eyes they think I'll never learn It'll be so right, it'll be so cool, you know it's already yours Be thankful for every thing that you get Don't you dare knock the applause It seems implied that I should wait 'til that day Like those around me with nothing left to say They seem to insinuate that I should wait my turn I can see it in their eyes they think I'll never learn It'll be so right, it'll be so cool, you know it's already yours Be thankful for every thing that you get Don't you dare knock the applause It seems implied that I should wait 'til that day Like those around me with nothing left to say La la la la....

Tequila Song 02:30
I got Tequila, you got the powder Big hips are rolling and voices getting louder Take as much as you want, take more than you need 'Cos tonight we're bringing this old town to its knees Four hour's sleep and I'm working all night After the lock-in it's broad daylight Four more hours sleep and I nearly miss my set And now it's midnight and I'm drinking with my friends And I don't know where I'm gonna sleep tonight But I don't think I'm going to sleep tonight because I got Tequila, you got the powder Big hips are rolling and voices getting louder Take as much as you want, take more than you need 'Cos tonight we're bringing this old town to its knees Hey you know that kid? I know him too He's got sick on his trousers, he's lost his shoe! We could put him in a taxi or run away Don't think he's gonna remember anyway And I don't know where I'm gonna sleep tonight But I don't think I'm going to sleep tonight because I got Tequila, you got the powder Big hips are rolling and voices getting louder Take as much as you want, take more than you need 'Cos tonight we're bringing this old town to its knees And we just like getting high, yeah! Tear the stars down from the sky Right the best wrongs of the year Feed the hunger chase the fear I got Tequila, you got the powder Big hips are rolling and voices getting louder Take as much as you want, take more than you need 'Cos tonight we're bringing this old town to its knees

Hey friend please hear what I'm saying to you All I'm looking for is a change of view Why should truth be a privilege of the chosen few? Realise, criticise, there's so much to do When what they do and what they say Doesn't make sense anyway My friend here's the game we play You must question the answers Make pretend that it's really the start of a war Recruiting members in the name of a righteous cause Pick a fight, make it right there's a wolf at the door Analyse the method who is keeping score When it's good advice to read it twice As they twist the vice you must realise What they do and what they say doesn't make sense anyway My friend here's the game we play You must question the answers Question the answers yeah! When it's good advice to read it twice As they twist the vice you must realise What they do and what they say doesn't make sense anyway My friend here's the game we play You must question the answers Question the answers yeah!

Hunched posture and a furrowed brow Can't keep my eyelids open Do you think that I could leave it now, Despite the long choking? Stupid honour to the sacred vow It's against hope that I'm hoping Can't move my fingers but I still know how To keep my mind revolving I won't make the sme mistakes again Banged my head for so many hours Though the wall is barely dented Though my forehead has a bloody hole The bricks remain cemented I'm always feeling cheated however hard I try Mistakes will be repeated however much I lie The people see right through me however hard I cry They know it in the second that they look me in the eye I won't make thew same mitskas again I'm always feeling cheated however hard I try Mistakes will be repeated however much I lie The people see right through me however hard I cry They know it in the second that they look me in the eye I won't mkae the same mistakes again

There were three little gypsies Came to our front door They came brave and bawdy-o And the one sang high and the other sang low And the other sang a raglle-taggle gypsy-o It was upstairs downstairs the lady ran Put on her suit of leather-o It was all the cry all around the door "She'll away with the raggle-taggle gypsy-o!" "O come saddle me for my milk white steed My black one is not speedy-o For I will ride and I'll seek my bride Who's away with the raggle-taggle gypsy-o! "Tell me why did you leave your house and your land? Why did you leave the money-o? Why did you leave your only wedded lord To away with the raggle-taggle gypsy-o?" "What should I care for my house and my land? What should I care for the money-o? What she I care for my only wedded lord When I'm away with the raggle-taggle gypsy-o?" "It was ere last night you had a goose feathered bed With the sheets pulled down so comely-o But tonight you'll lie in a cold open field All alone with your raggle-taggle gypsy-o!" "What should I care for my goose feathered bed With the sheets pulled down so comely-o For tonight I'll lie in a cold open field All alone with my raggle-taggle gypsy-o! "You rode east and you rode west You rode woods and valleys-o But I'd rather get a kiss from the yellow gypsy's lips Than all of the cash and the money-o!"

Outside my window it is wet and cold I accept the challenge Gotta leave the house go out tonight And find the answers I know that when the bass is feeling right I'll find the action Taking my chances amongst the fights The stars and chancers Oh no the lengths we go And then the web we wove Even the lies we told Just to be feeling alright At least an hours walk down lonely roads But I've got my reasons Undertaking the mission that I'm bestowed Throughout every season Sometimes I could be invincible Amongst the chatter Make sure I stick to the principle And nothing matters When everything is permissible The world's in tatters Dispensing with the dismissible Reality shatters Oh no the lengths we go And then the web we wove Even the lies we told Just to be feeling alright

The troubles that I've seen only seem to impress me 'Cos I don't back down from a fight And I don't get scared walking home at night Past the tower blocks and fences and the things that make them scared I looked in every corner but there was no-one there I strode along foolhardy as the taxis passed me by Their headlights are reflecting on the retinas of my eyes Reputation! They're talking about me No big sensation, when you getting free? Got my swagger back more than before I bet you saw it when I walked in through the door Turn your nose up, I don't really care You won't believe the fun that we have when you're not there The best parties on the edge of town Up where the posers have been replaced by clowns Past the tower blocks and fences and things that make them scared I looked in every corner but there was no-one there I strode along foolhardy as the taxis passed me by There headlights are reflecting on the retinas of my eyes The troubles that I've seen only seem to impress me 'Cos I don't back down from a fight And I don't get scared walking home at night Past the tower blocks and fences and things that make them scared I looked in every corner but there was no-one there I strode along foolhardy as the taxis passed me by Their headlights are reflecting on the retinas of my eyes

about

In 35 brief minutes the Sexy Weirdos manage to cover a startling amount of ground on this, their sleek second album. Kill the Beast takes its influences from disparate cultures and movements such as rabble rousing two tone on "Tequila Song","Raggle Taggle Gypsy"'s explosive make over for the twenty first century festival scene or the apocalyptic swing of the title track. The result is a surprisingly cohesive set of songs, all infused with the trademark Weirdo energy, successfully captured on record. The band have taken a mains-wired blender to the last fifty years of popular music and dared it to dangle its naughty bits in.

Recorded and produced by Gavin Monaghan (Editors, Carina Round, The Destroyers), Kill the Beast's conception was helped along by rock and roll history. The band borrowed The Clash's tuba player (from Sandinista!), Bowie's mixing desk, Joy Division's guitar and even Ned's Atomic Dustbin's drum kit to add their own voice to rock and roll's delightful history.
